Morris Mouse’s Adventure with Hazel & Kieran
Week 2

What a busy week I’ve had. I thought it was going to be a relaxing week, because on Saturday that’s what we did-relaxed all day. But on Sunday, things got a bit busier.

Sunday morning was really wet & rainy, but when the rain slowed down we headed to the Farmer’s Market. After we had our lunch, the kids’ parents decided on a special outing. We went to Toys R Us—I’ve never seen so many toys.

Kieran bought a Play Mobile Pirate ship and we had fun playing with that all evening till bedtime. Daisy & Hazel played with the new ice cream café.

On Monday I went to my very first concert, a piano recital. I was rather excited, but a bit nervous when all the lights went out. Once the music started I was fine. This is a photo of all of us when we got to our seats.

I have no idea what the man played, but I enjoyed it. Later that afternoon I got to watch the kids do their Irish Dancing lesson.

Wednesday felt like a whirlwind of activity for me. We went to the WI market in the morning. We bought some fresh eggs and some cakes for after lunch. Then we went to our second concert—a String Quartet. Wow, could they play some really nice music. I think I liked the cello the best. After the concert, Hazel & Kieran had to go to their music lessons. They played very nice as well!

On Thursday the kids had their football session. Their mom took all of us to the park early for a play in the playground. I had fun going down the slide all on my own, and got very dizzy with Daisy on the round-about!

Guess what we did on Friday? Yes—I went to a third concert! What fun—this one was really cool. It was a Saxophone Quartet—what a fun way to end my week with Hazel & Kieran!

I wonder where I’m off to next.

Morris Mouse’s Adventure with Hazel & Kieran
Week 1

I arrived at Hazel & Kieran’s house just in time on Saturday. They were just about to leave so the kids could be in an Irish Dancing display. I had never seen one before and thought it looked like fun.

On Sunday we went to the food store and then played in their garden for most of the day. Kieran and Hazel helped me on the swings, and then showed me how to plant carrot seeds. We played most of the day on Monday as well. Kieran took me for a fast bike ride. Then we went to the kids dancing class—just watching them made me tired.

Tuesday was a fun day out at Harcourt Arboretum. The kids Home Ed group was having a talk on habitats in the afternoon, but we went a bit earlier to have a picnic. I gobbled up my cheese roll in seconds—see, they had barely started on theirs!

Kieran carried me in his rucksack for the walk—it would have been far too long for me to walk on my own. When we were at the pond, I thought I saw one of my Country cousins scurrying past.

The kids brought me to their football session on Thursday morning. It was fun meeting so many new friends. We had to leave early to take Hazel to the doctors. I hadn’t been to a GP’s office before, it looked very interesting.

The kids went out in the evening to Brownies and Badgers, but I stayed behind to relax for a bit. When Hazel came home from Brownies she brought home another travelling friend—her name is Daisy. That means there is another new friend to share my adventures with.

This morning we all went on a bus ride to get to the Oxford Natural History Museum. This is Daisy and I before today’s adventure began.

You wouldn’t believe how happy I was when I got to the museum. My good friends Sam & Hannah were there! We were all excited to see each other again. This is a photo of Kieran and Sam showing me what a Hissing Cockroach looks like.

I also found an ancient relative of mine. Just think, even we mice are in the history museum!

Week 2

What an exciting week. At the start of the week Hannah and Sam decided that I needed a rest and left me to sleep on the sofa. I feel a lot better for the rest- look how pale I was!

When I was all better Hannah and Sam decided it was time for another adventure, we rode on a bus which was great fun.

Can you believe it, there is a shop named after me- look can you see the name?It seems that I am a true expert in photography. How exciting, I must have a go at taking some pictures!

We went to the park and Hannah and Sam both took me for rides on the roundabout, the swings, the see-saw (I fell off and bumped my head) and the slide. We had a fantastic time and we went so fast had to shut my eyes! Look at us wizzing around together (there I am on the seat with Hannah.)

Gosh my time here has flown by, I've had so much fun with Hannah and Sam. Now I'm off to meet Hazel and Keiron, I bet we'll have all sorts of fun together. I got all packed up in my box, I'm travelling first class by Royal Mail which is meant to be the most comfortable way to travel. The Morris Mouse adventures have just begun. I promise to write soon. Love M x

I had a go at doing some maths but I wasn't very good at it- I kept saying the wrong answer!

I went on a picnic and had a cheese roll. Sam took me up a tree, it was scary but I enjoyed being up high and Sam got me down safely.

Hannah and Sam put me in a backback and took me out on their scooters to see the area around their home. We went very fast! My ears are floppy and kept wiggling, everybody laughed. It was raining and my head got wet. I fell off Hannah’s scooter but don’t worry, I’m ok.
I sat with Hannah and Sam and told them what to write in my diary, here’s a picture of them typing it up for me

I had my portrait done!

I was just sitting on the table when I glanced down and saw that Hannah and Sam had both drawn pictures of me. I think they look just like me. Here they are for you to see. I'll fill you in on more of my adventures very soon.

Tuesday 28 April 2009

What a start! I was sitting on the shelf at the charity shop hoping that a child would buy me when in came two children who looked kind. I winked at them a few times but they didn't notice me at first! In the end I got their attention and their Mum bought me. We went home on the bus which was very exciting because I'd never been on the bus before.

On the way the children's Mum explained to the children that I like to stay with lots of different people. I plan to spend my first two weeks here then off I go on my adventures.

When we got back to the children's house I had a great time whirling around in the washing machine- I got quite dizzy! The children found a special box for me to travel around in so now I'm all set for my adventure to begin.
