Morris Mouse’s Adventure with Hazel & Kieran
Week 1

I arrived at Hazel & Kieran’s house just in time on Saturday. They were just about to leave so the kids could be in an Irish Dancing display. I had never seen one before and thought it looked like fun.

On Sunday we went to the food store and then played in their garden for most of the day. Kieran and Hazel helped me on the swings, and then showed me how to plant carrot seeds. We played most of the day on Monday as well. Kieran took me for a fast bike ride. Then we went to the kids dancing class—just watching them made me tired.

Tuesday was a fun day out at Harcourt Arboretum. The kids Home Ed group was having a talk on habitats in the afternoon, but we went a bit earlier to have a picnic. I gobbled up my cheese roll in seconds—see, they had barely started on theirs!

Kieran carried me in his rucksack for the walk—it would have been far too long for me to walk on my own. When we were at the pond, I thought I saw one of my Country cousins scurrying past.

The kids brought me to their football session on Thursday morning. It was fun meeting so many new friends. We had to leave early to take Hazel to the doctors. I hadn’t been to a GP’s office before, it looked very interesting.

The kids went out in the evening to Brownies and Badgers, but I stayed behind to relax for a bit. When Hazel came home from Brownies she brought home another travelling friend—her name is Daisy. That means there is another new friend to share my adventures with.

This morning we all went on a bus ride to get to the Oxford Natural History Museum. This is Daisy and I before today’s adventure began.

You wouldn’t believe how happy I was when I got to the museum. My good friends Sam & Hannah were there! We were all excited to see each other again. This is a photo of Kieran and Sam showing me what a Hissing Cockroach looks like.

I also found an ancient relative of mine. Just think, even we mice are in the history museum!
